The look and feel of a website, as well as a users ability to navigate and use the website is a direct reflection of your business. For this reason, a well-planned, carefully considered website design, designed with your customers in mind, is imperative if you are wanting to really put your best foot forward online and engage with more customers.

How long will it take to design and build a website?
The time that it will take for us to design your website and deliver the completed product to you, depends on the size and complexity of the site. While simple marketing websites are fairly quick to produce (two to three weeks), larger, more complex websites, such as eCommerce websites will take longer. Rigorous website testing, especially in the case of eCommerce websites, is vital and this testing can take a few days when it comes to more complex websites. When we supply you with our quotation, we will also provide you with a rough time frame for completion.
Who writes the content for the site?
We usually leave that job up to you. We are web experts but you are the expert of your own business, so it’s usually best if it comes from you. If you need help, we have a copywriter on our team who can help clean up your submitted writing or write original content for you at an additional cost.
Do you offer website hosting and domains?
We do offer hosting here at Astral Marketing. We also offer free domain names as long as you choose to host with us. We offer domains that include .com, .co.za, .org, .info, as well as many others. To host with us, we require a monthly fee of R250. This also includes maintenance, which allows us to fix any issues should your site run into problems.
Why is a mobile friendly, or responsive website important to have?
Today, more and more web searches are done on a mobile device and so having a mobile friendly website is crucial. Traditional websites do not scale down to fit the smaller screen size of a mobile device which makes text difficult to read, while buttons and links tend to be difficult to locate and use. A mobile friendly website can avoid all these problems while delivering a pleasant experience to the mobile user.
How often should my website be updated?
Existing and prospective customers love to see new content so you will need to establish what frequency will be best for you. Updating your website regularly benefits your SEO (search engine optimisation) and the experience your customers will have when visiting your website. It also ensures that your website is up to date with the latest security measures to protect both you and your clients. The most popular search engine in use today, Google, decides the rules as to how websites should be designed, built and maintained to achieve the highest search rankings. Google’s most recent algorithms actively promote those websites which offer users relevant, useful content which is updated and added to on a regular basis. We often recommend that a blog be incorporated on your website, which should be updated with a new blog post either weekly or bi-weekly, as this will increase your organic search ranking significantly. At Astral Marketing, we follow the latest guidelines set by Google to ensure that your website will be ranked higher in search results.
How do I get my website to show up on the first page of Google?
A high search ranking with Google is dependent on how your website is developed. Google ranks the experience that you are able to create for your visitors and so your site needs to be developed in-line with Google’s best SEO practices. To achieve the perfect balance, the content, functionality and design of the website must suit Google’s strict standards and failing to do so can drop you in their rankings. This causes possible clients to choose a competitor instead of you when searching for your field of services online. In addition, search engine optimisation techniques need to take place behind the scenes, by experienced and qualified SEO specialists.
Our website design and development team at Astral Marketing specialises in building premium, high-performance websites. By ensuring that your content contains focused keyphrases that attract interest; your website design has the customer in mind, being both logical and visually appealing; and by ensuring that your website functions perfectly every time for your users – we deliver an online experience for your business that is worth returning to!
In addition, we build our search engine optimisation (SEO) service into each new website that we build which includes all the behind the scenes, technical stuff that will help your website rank in the highest possible position in Google search results. Please note however that although we will ensure that your website is suitably search engine optimised when it is built, SEO is ultimately an ongoing practice which incorporates content generation (such as constant blog posts), social media and online pay-per-click (PPC) advertising. We will discuss the most cost efficient and suitable solution for your business.
Can I update the website on my own?
If you have a content management system like WordPress, updating your website becomes really easy to do so if you have basic knowledge on how to make the necessary changes. However, messing with a website without the necessary know-how can cause your website to ‘break’. We also offer a service to update your website for you should you not have the time or know-how.
Why should my business use social media?
Let’s face it: the world has gone social. In fact, roughly 30% of all time spent online is allocated to social media. If you want to get in front of the most people, social media is the way to do it! Whether you’re interested in brand awareness, sponsored content, or a combination of both, we can help!
What social platforms should my business use?
The short answer: it depends. While Facebook is great as a starting point, we like to get to know each client on an individual basis to cater to their needs. Because every brand is unique, deciding which platform(s) to spend time on relies on many factors like who your audience is, what products and/or services your business provides and the goals you wish to achieve.
How often should my business post content?
On most platforms, it’s best to post at least twice a week, but some social media outlets are an exception. Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram can be more frequent if your team has the time and the content to post. We suggest that you post on Twitter daily, whether it’s socializing a blog, office event or relevant curated content. Another great way to stay top-of-mind is utilizing Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram Stories. Stories only last 24 hours, so you have the opportunity to create a sense of urgency and exclusivity with your content without being too excessive.
